Our Land – Built with Determination

1800–1959

Matupit Village was originally established on island land between 1800 and 1959.

1971

The community came together to shape the village you see today. Using large stones, the villagers built foundations and connected roads—paving the way for vehicle access and modern transport to nearby Rabaul town.
