ISLAND BOAT TOURS
In one direction, the Duke of York Islands and Pigeon Islands, in the other direction, the lesser known Watom Island. Access to both is by boat, commonly, “banana boat” – open 23-26ft (7-8 metre) boats powered by 40-60hp outboard motors. Our guides will combine Islanders to take you to the best spots for sightseeing, photography, snorkelling, or simply relaxing and seeing the islanders’ way of life.

Yamamoto Bunker
The Bunker was later used the new based H.Q. in the South Pacific, for the Army and the Navy. The first H.Q. was established in the New Guinea Club Building. It was occupied by the Japanese Navy until late 1943. The Bunker (Yamamoto) was based H.Q. and was used as the command post for the Imperial ISOROKU YAMAMOTO, in planning the attack against the Allied Forces.

Bitapaka War Cemetery
Bitapaka War Cemetery
Situated south of the Township of Kokopo, Gazelle Peninsula in East New Britain Province. This Cemetery is of the soldiers from the Australian capture of the German headquarters during World War one (1) in 1914. The Cemetery of over 1,000 allied soldiers, Australians, Papuans, British and colonial Indian troops who died in the struggle with the Japanese. It is well kept, and is funded by the AUSTRALIAN WAR GRAVE COMMISSION.
